Shaanxi Functional Food Engineering Technology Research Center is a scientific research unit specializing in research and development, testing, achievement transformation and technical services of functional food and traditional Chinese medicine health care products, providing research and development services and R&D outsourcing for enterprises. The Center has successively undertaken the National 12th Five Year Science and Technology Support Plan and the National 13th Five Year Key R&D Plan, won the project support from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission, and is the sixth batch of national technology transfer demonstration institutions approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the fourth batch of national public service demonstration platform for small and medium-sized enterprises approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the national top 100 innovative enterprises for small and medium-sized enterprises, and the innovative R&D center approved by the Shaanxi Provincial Bureau for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises, Shaanxi Provincial Technology Transfer Demonstration Institution and Provincial Functional Food Engineering Technology Research Center approved by Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Department. In 2015 and 2016, the "Functional Food Technology Research and Industrialization Innovation Team" and "Eucommia Comprehensive Utilization and Technology Industrialization Innovation Team" were respectively obtained. The technical achievements were awarded the first prize, the second prize and the third prize of Shaanxi Science and Technology respectively.
The center consists of a functional food research and development center, a testing center, and a production base. The research and development center covers an area of 10,000 ㎡, which can carry out product screening, process research, standard research, and other work, and provide research and development technical services to enterprises. The inspection center covers an area of 8000 square meters. It has a toxicological function laboratory, a microbiological laboratory, a physical and chemical testing laboratory, and is equipped with high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, blood cell analyzer, automatic biochemical analyzer, atomic absorption spectrophotometer and other analytical and testing instruments. It can complete the detection of food, traditional Chinese medicine, health food, health products, disinfection products, cosmetics, etc. The production base covers an area of 25000 m2 and has passed the health food production license certification of Shaanxi Food and Drug Administration, which can simultaneously meet the production requirements of granules, capsules, tablets, tea preparations, oral liquids, alcoholic beverages and other preparations.
At present, the center has more than 80 full-time personnel, including 32 persons with master's and doctor's degrees, 28 persons with medium and senior technical titles; In addition, more than 10 domestic experts in medicine, pharmacy, food nutrition, bioengineering and other fields have been employed to form a consulting team for a long time to provide technical guidance for many functional food enterprises in technical research and development, technical innovation, technical training, project consulting, product testing, project application and achievement transformation. Over the years since its establishment, the Center has carried out research and development, testing, consulting, training, cooperation and exchange and other technical services based on the needs of enterprises. The service objects are mainly enterprises in Shaanxi Province, and have spread to more than 30 provinces and cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Guangdong, Hebei, Sichuan, Jilin, Qinghai, Shandong, Anhui, Henan, etc. Since its establishment, the Center has obtained more than 500 approval certificates from the State Food and Drug Administration, all of which have been transformed, and more than 200 projects are currently under research.
